Day 239: Shaped by the Hands That Keep Trying

Day 239: Shaped by the Hands That Keep Trying

“Pottery is the art of turning broken earth into something that holds life.”

One Step Collective

Today wasn’t perfect.

The morning dragged me under a little—the weight, the noise, the familiar ache that clings when you first open your eyes.

But somehow, as the hours moved forward, so did I.

A few simple choices.

A few quiet victories.

Pottery found me again—the weight of the clay in my hands, the slow shaping of something new.

There’s something deeply grounding about working with earth, with broken things.

Something healing about turning what was once dust into something that can hold life, beauty, and even hope.

I also got to hear from my friend—the one who’s seen me through some of the worst storms.

And just like that, with a conversation and a little time, the day shifted.

The cracks didn’t vanish.

But they stopped feeling like failures.

They started feeling like part of the shape of things.

Today reminded me:

Healing isn’t loud.

It isn’t flashy.

Sometimes it’s just showing up for the smallest moments—

and letting those moments shape you into something stronger.

Broken earth.

New hands.

A life still being formed.
